A Note from Jessica

Look in the mirror and know that you have everything you’ll ever need inside you

My mission is to spread more love in this world—and that was my inspiration for my debut book, The Love Inside!

As a mother of three, when I asked my two oldest children how they show themselves love, they had NO clue! They could tell me all about being kind and polite to others but could not articulate how they love themselves. It became my goal to write a book that showed them how.

According to the Pew Research Center, four-in-ten US parents with children younger than 18 say they are extremely or very worried that their children might struggle with anxiety or depression at some point. Our kids need more love to help them navigate it!

Each time I saw another heartbreaking news story, I wanted to do more than offer thoughts and prayers. If every child grows up learning how to love themselves, they will be able to contribute to creating a more peaceful world.

Self-love can start small! My hope is that The Love Inside will bring that spark to every classroom, youth group, and bookshelf. Based on Buddhist philosophy, it teaches to love yourself just as you love the others around you. It’s the first book in a series that I hope will move the next generation toward love, understanding, and respect for themselves.
